commentIn July Vestas opened an engineering site in Louisville to support Vestas Global and enhance Vestas’ wind-power production capabilities throughout North America.
Vestas moved 46 employees into 47,675 sq ft of space on Centennial Parkway in Louisville on July 7 and will expand the team to include up to 125 highly skilled engineers within a year’s time.
The Vestas engineering site enhances the firm’s ability to integrate product development by placing it close to the company’s three factories—a blade factory in Windsor, a nacelle-assembly factory in Brighton and tower factory in Pueblo—said Finn Madsen, president Vestas Technology R&D.
The Vestas engineering site will focus specifically on increasing wind-turbine efficiency and lowering energy costs. The site will work to improve technology for existing turbines and develop wind power systems of the future, Madsen says.
