commentUDOT began installing in March the new electronic payment system for the Interstate 15 Express Lanes . When installation is complete, the electronic payment system will run from Lehi Main Street to 2300 North in Salt Lake City and from State Street in Farmington to the south Layton interchange.

When I-15 reconstruction in Utah County is complete at the end of 2012, the system will extend further south to U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork.
Installation consists of drilling foundations and replacing median barriers to install electronic signs, sensors and reader technology.
TransCore of Harrisburg, Pa., is the contractor for the $11-millon project.
