Utah Air National Guard’s Composite Fire Station

Text size: A A

Crews started construction in September on the Utah Air National Guard’s Composite Fire Station, Mobility Processing and EOD Facility in Salt Lake City.

The new building will be used for fire services, deployment of an explosives ordnances disposal group and as a base gym. Zwick of Salt Lake City and PGA&W Architects of Murray have teamed for the $7.2-million project, which will be two stories totaling 37,300 sq ft.

Designers are aiming for a LEED-Gold certification. LEED priorities are brownfield redevelopment, water efficiency for both building use and landscaping, and energy efficiency. The project will be complete in May 2011.
