The Colorado Chapter of Society for Marketing Professional Services hosted the annual Marketing Excellence Awards on May 17. In addition to highlighting the industry’s best-of-the-best marketing pieces and individuals, this year marks the 30th anniversary for the SMPS Colorado Chapter.
The following members were recipients of individual awards.
Leonardo Award Recipient: Lisa Jelliffe, Worth Group, Denver
The Leonardo Award is given by SMPS Colorado to honor achievement at the highest level in marketing and business development for the A/E/C industry. Since 2007, Jelliffe has served as director of business development and marketing for Worth Group—a Denver design firm with a diverse portfolio of commercial, retail and institutional projects.
Jelliffe is currently active in Colorado Preservation Inc., American Institute of Architects, Society for Marketing Professional Services, Jimmy Griffin Scholarship Foundation, Colorado Real Estate Women, Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, City Club of Denver and Capitol Hills Community Services. Additionally, she is the Founder of “Get It Built!” benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, and she served as the SMPS Colorado Chapter President in 2003-2004.
Member of the Year: Dana Humphreys, Hyder Construction, Denver
Since joining the SMPS Colorado Chapter in 2008, Humphreys has been an integral part of the chapter and currently serves on the board of directors. Since 2010, she has led the Communications Committee, in addition to serving on the 2012 30th Anniversary Marketing Excellence Awards Committee.
Her activities have included overseeing the chapter website redesign and newsletter development, as well as supporting the chapter’s overall internal and external communication throughout Colorado. This year, the chapter honored Humphreys, who has demonstrated leadership and commitment to the organization and has had a significant impact on the chapter’s reputation and success.
Marketer of the Year: Julie Lougee, MKK Consulting Engineers, Denver
As director of marketing and business development, Lougee oversees the marketing and business strategies and staff for three branches of MKK, including Greenwood Village, Cheyenne and Billings. Since joining the firm in 2010, Lougee has developed and implemented numerous marketing efforts within her firm, notably including a five-year strategic plan for MKK’s board of directors for the first time in company history, redesigning marketing collateral, and revising the CRM database.
She has been a SMPS member for over six years, serving on the Communications Committee as well as a juror for the National Marketing Communication Awards. A dedicated marketing professional, Lougee has demonstrated her commitment to excellence in leadership and marketing.
